Under the guidance and support of Medical Affairs Bureau (MAB), Ministry of National Defense (MND), Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) has in recent years been very active in cultivating organ transplant medical specialists and developing organ transplant medical technologies. Furthermore, TSGH has also been sparing no efforts in promoting its organ donation campaign. Initiatives pushed forwarded by TSGH medical teams included, periodic organ donation promotional campaigns and organ donation card sign-up activities, education & training seminars for clinicians and administrative staffs, outreaching activities geared toward family members of organ donors, and memorial services commemorating and paying tribute to donors who gave life to others through organ or tissues donations.

Through cross-disciplinary cooperation and efforts, TSGH is awarded “The 3rd Best Medical Institution for Type I Organ Donation” and “The 2nd Best Medical Institution for Type II Organ Donation” by Taiwan Organ Registry and Sharing Center in the 13th National Organ Donation Award Ceremony (2020). The aforementioned awards are bestowed based on the number of organ donors recruited by respective medical institutions. As for the individual awardee, Ms. Ru-Jun, DAI, Head Nurse of Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of TSGH is awarded “Best Organ Donation Campaign Medical Staff Award”. On behalf of TSGH, Superintendent Chih-Hung, WANG attended the 13th (2020) National Organ Donation Award Ceremony and accepted the aforementioned institutional and individual organ donation awards bestowed by Taiwan Organ Donation Registry and Sharing Center on Nov. 2nd, 2020.
