The creation of medical assistance devices is based on the consideration of clinical patient needs and safety.The「Adhesive Exempts Fixed Foley Belt」was invented by the Nursing department of Tri-service General Hospital and won the gold medal and special prize of the Russian National Salon Archimedes in 2017, and meanwhile the 「Injection Memory Pen Cap」won the gold medal and silver prize from National Science invention and Russian National Salon Archimedes.

Superintendent PAN YU LIN, nurses WANG YA HUA and LIAO JIA YI who are members of the Innovation Team and dedicated their efforts to develop the「Second generation of Injection Memory Pen Cap」. This invention not only gain the patent certification, but also won golden prize in the 8th IIIC international innovation invention healthcare poster competition.

Additionally, The Chinese Innovation and Invention association held「The 13th IIP International Outstanding Inventors Exhibition」in November 2017, GAO QI WEN, director of nursing department and Superintendent PAN YU LIN were awarded with special invention achievement prize. Nurses CAO YAI JIA and Chang Yi were awarded with special creative prize. SHI YU LONG, director of gastroenterology and head of general surgery CHEN DENG WEI were awarded with international fellow prize.

The invention of 「Second generation of Injection Memory Pen Cap」is able to present various information such as time, doses and site of injection. It is very convenient that all functions are combined into one button on this pen. It also reminds patient of information about doses and region when injecting the insulin, therefore, it protects the skin of injection and lower the risk of infection. On the other hand, It can improve the drug absorption and treatment effectiveness. There is no doubt, this invention has demonstrated that the service and innovation will keep advancing.

On March 16, 2018, President Tsai Ing-wen met with the winners of the "13th International Outstanding Inventor Award 2017". The president thanked once again to all the winners for their efforts and endeavor.
