Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) Inked Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Academic Cooperation with The Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine of United Kingdom on December 3rd, 2018. After the signing of the MOU, both institutions can initiate mutually academic cooperative programs on faculty exchange, cooperative and collaborative research, joint academic article research and publishing, healthcare professional education and training, among others.

The Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine is world renowned for its specialized strength in medicine, science and technology, and business education and research and has for multiple years been ranked the most competitive academic institution to enroll in the U.K. and one of the top ten universities globally. The Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine of United Kingdom has been highly regarded in its education and research programs worldwide, especially its advanced research programs in the fields of life science and natural science. Prof. Martin R. Wilkins, vice dean (research) for the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Lan Zhao, professor of experimental medicine at Imperial College London and academic director of the Imperial College Biological Imaging Centre were invited by Tri-Service General Hospital to give their lectures to clinicians and staffs of TSGH during the visiting delegation’s visit in Taipei, Taiwan. The MOU on academic cooperation and subsequent cooperative programs is deemed to be highly instrumental in broadening international perspective of faculty and students of both institutions and capable of deepening their understanding of international medicine development trends. Academic exchange and cooperation highlighted above helps fulfil policy agendas specified by Medical Affairs Bureau (MAB), Ministry of National Defense (MND), Republic of China (Taiwan) and will uphold positive image of Taiwan’s Military Health System.
