The ceremony marking the end of the term of the original Superintendent, Major General Chih-Hung Wang, and the beginning of the new Superintendent, Major General Yi-Jen Hung, as well as the inauguration hosted by Lieutenant General Chien-Sung Tsai, Director of the Medical Affairs Bureau, Ministry of National Defense, was held at 9 a.m. on February 24, 2023.

Superintendent Chih-Hung Wang led the whole medical team of the hospital from strength to strength, participating in many medical quality improvement activities since his inauguration on August 1, 2020, and being recognized many times over for their efforts. He drove the team to implement COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures, promote smart medicine, and innovate new facilities for the Tingjhou branch. His outstanding performance has earned him recognition from supervisors and respect by all staff members in the hospital.

New Superintendent Major General Yi-Jen Hung has served as Chief of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Division of the Tri-Service General Hospital, Deputy Director of the Medical Planning Department of the Medical Affairs Bureau, Ministry of National Defense, Superintendent of the Tri-Service General Hospital Songshan Branch, and Director of the Institute of Preventative Medicine of the National Defense Medical Center, among other posts. He has diverse experience in medicine and administration. Superintendent Hung is a generous and kind person, has a strong sense of mission and responsibility for all matters under his remit, and has a strong background in professional medical and research expertise.

The Director of the Medical Affairs Bureau, Lieutenant General Tsai, not only recognized the contributions of Superintendent Major General Wang during his service and introduced the new Superintendent, Major General Wang, but also encouraged all staff of the hospital to contribute all their efforts with passion, follow the new superintendent in loyalty to the military and strong spirit, and continuously improve services to build a better future for the Tri-Service General Hospital and the army.
