Title:Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) Sponsored The Military Medical Center's First Eid al-Fitr Celebrating Activities.

To support and implement “Muslim-Friendly Healthcare Environment” polices put forth by Taipei City Government, Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) sponsored its first “Eid al-Fitr Festival” celebrating activities in Neihu Main Branch of the military medical center on June 6th, 2019. TSGH has invited senior leaders and staffs of Indonesia Economic and Trade Office to Taipei to take part in the hospital’s Eid al-Fitr festival activities. Dr. Zheng-Rong, CHEN, Administrative Deputy Superintendent of TSGH and Dr. Wen-Hui, FANG, Director of International Medical Service Center of TSGH and other hospital staffs and clinicians hosted all Muslim guests of honor participating in TSGH’s Eid al-Fitr celebratory activities in Neihu Main Branch. Joined by TSGH clinicians and staffs, Dr. CHEN and Dr. FANG paid homage to nearly 200 Muslim friends from Indonesia working in TSGH as hospital care workers. Dr. CHEN, during his remarks, has vowed to turn TSGH into a “Muslim-Friendly” healthcare facility and ultimately realize its vision in making TSGH a “Muslim-Friendly Center of Medical Excellence” by attaining Halal certification.

TSGH’s Eid al-Fitr Festival was the first such celebratory activities sponsored by and held in a hospital throughout Taiwan. During the course of TSGH’s Eid al-Fitr Festival activities, Dr. CHEN, Administrative Deputy Superintendent of TSGH and Mr. Mochammad Firdaus, Director of Investment Department at Indonesia Economic and Trade Office to Taipei have both delivered their respective congratulatory remarks in announcing the celebratory events. Dr. FANG, Director of International Medical Service Center of TSGH also led Director Mochammad Firdaus and other senior staffs of Indonesia Economic and Trade Office to Taipei to tour TSGH’s multicultural library, posters introducing Muslim culture and traditions, as well as the hospital’s Muslim prayer room. Dr. CHEN, Dr. FANG, and Mr. Mochammad Firdaus also handed out date palm fruits, traditional food eaten during the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", to Muslim hospitals worker and patients in rehabilitation department and outpatient lobby of TSGH. The provision and sharing of date palm fruits was meant to show TSGH staffs’ respect and appreciations to Muslim hospital workers from foreign countries for their services and contribution to the caring of local patients in Taiwan. TSGH’s Eid al-Fitr Festival activities were also meant to allow clinicians and staffs of TSGH, as well as local people in Taipei to gain more understanding of and appreciations to Muslim culture and traditions. TSGH’s Eid al-Fitr Festival activities were well received by all event participants.
