Title:TSGH driving progress, fighting the pandemic, and earning another excellent evaluation – Happy 77th anniversary to TSGH!Published day:2023/7/1
To mark the 77th anniversary of the hospital, we held an anniversary celebration on June 28, 2023. The event was hosted by Lieutenant General Tsai, Chien-Sung, Director of the Medical Affairs Bureau, MND. Many former directors (superintendents), including President Cha, Tai-Lung, National Defense Medical Center, directors across different departments of the Medical Affairs Bureau, and honored guests were also in attendance to join in the celebration.
Warm words from the Minister of the MND and Chief of General Staff were read out at the beginning of the event, followed by a speech given by Lieutenant General Tsai, Chien-Sung, Director of the Medical Affairs Bureau, MND. Later, videos of hospital reviews were played to show guests our anti-pandemic efforts, aggressive preparation, and achievements. A group photo of directors (superintendents) standing in front of the birthday cake was then taken, and everyone joined in to sing "Happy Birthday" to mark the occasion.
In the past year, the hospital achieved excellent performance in the fields of national biotechnology and medical quality, and earned special recognition with 21 "Symbols of National Quality (SNQ)" and three National Innovation Awards. We are highly recognized for our innovative medical technology and service quality improvement across the board. In the future, we will continue to develop cell therapy, precision medicine, AI smart medicine, and other high-end medical technology to provide drive excellence in medical services. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new Critical Care Medical Building commenced on April 17 this year – a new record in military medical history – and will be completed by 2026. This construction will enhance the medical care energy and quality of treatment of critical diseases and cancers so it is key to providing critical care in northern Taiwan.
The medical center and hospital evaluation was postponed from 2016 due to the COVID-19 pandemic impact but recommenced this January. TSGH strongly believes it can maintain its excellent record and achieve new heights in medical quality and care standards in the upcoming evaluation, while continuing with pandemic prevention and protection.
