The Orthopaedic Department has been independent the surgical department since September of 1987.   Major advances have been made by orthopaedists in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment for a multitude of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders.   Running concurrently with these clinical services, teaching programs and scientific research advances, division of  General Orthopaedics, Traumatology, Sports Medicine, and spinal surgery have been established.

Division of Orthopaedic Traumatology

    The Division of Orthopaedic Traumatology is responsible for diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal  injuries caused by either accidental trauma or military war injuries. The operation techniques include various kinds of reduction and internal fixation or external fixations for fracture, managements of joint dislocation, soft tissue injury, enhancement of bone and joint healing and amputations or disarticulations.

Division of General Orthopaedics

    The Division of General Orthopaedics has made every effort to diagnosis and treat the spectrum of muscloskeletal disorders. Its clinical and scientific agendas focus on pediatric orthopaedics, joint reconstructive surgery, orthopaedic oncology and hand surgery. At the same time, orthopaedic cellular and gene research facilities have been established and are now being used to analyze the orthopaedic diseases

Division of Sports Medicine

    The Division of Sports Medicine is responsible for prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries due to sports or military drills. A laboratory for evaluation of muscular function has been established. The division performs diagnosis and therapeutic arthroscopy, ligament repair and reconstructions, and other operation of musculoskeletal injuries caused by sports.

Division of Spinal Surgery

    The Division of spinal surgery established in 1995 and is responsible for diagnosis and diseases of spine. The division also performs evaluation and analyzes biomechanic study and neurology of spine.
