Education and training

Clinical conference as well as mortality and interdisciplinary  　 conferences are held regularly: 1. Combined Radiology-Pediatrics-Pediatric Surgery meeting, Monday afternoon. 2. Journal meeting, Tuesday morning. 3. Clinical-case conference, every Thursday. 4. Combined Obstetric-Pediatric meeting, once a month.

(a)Participation in joint interdisciplinary case conferences in Northern District: 1. Clinical case conference on Paediatrics twice a month(by 10 teaching hospitals). 2. Joint case conference on infectious diseases once a month. 3. Joint case conference on paediatric nephrology every two month. 4. Joint case conference on paediatric cardiology every two month. 5. Joint case conference on paediatric neurology once a month. 6. Joint case conference on neonatology every two month. 7. Joint case conference on paediatric hematology once a month.

(b)Joint interdisciplinary case conferences: Both Regular and non-scheduled case conferences are held to obtain various opinions so as to be well benefited and elevate the entire quality by us and Department of Paediatrics Surgery, Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgey, Hematology, and Cardiovascular Department.

Training for doctors of different levels in inspecting wards, clinical teaching,and chart writing:

1.Presently, we are capable of one professor and five associate professors.
2.Acadecic instructions:
We serve the post of instructing paediatric physico-diagnosis(4th grade,M.S.);Paediatrics(4th grade,M.S. & 3rd grade, Nursing Dep.); General Paediatrcs(4th grade, Dentistry Dep. & 3rd grade, Pharmacy Dep. and Public Hygienics Dep.)Due to the establishment of sub-divisions, the contents of professional educationare continuously stepped up and upgraded; meanwhile, we offer scheduled and periodictests(besides original midterms and finals, we have added four extra tests) in order toencourage the students to learn properly from their studies.
3.Clinical Instructions for interns and clerks:
The morning meeting is convened respectively by each attending doctor of different sub-specialty to carry out clinical-case discussions and instructions. Also, under the directionsof directors of each division、attending doctors、chief residents and residents, we thus havestrengthenedhistory taking, chart writing, physical examination, interpretation of lablatory data, and manipulation of every basic technique. At the same time, we provide our students with a complete and systematic series of course on clinical instruction so as to make them familiar with clinicalwork and acquainted with paediatrics on well-built foundation.

2.studying Programs:We have brought up candidates of defence technology for further study and have seen great results.

　a.Attending doctor,De-Ming Chu: began his doctoral education on paediatric endocrinology in Vanderbilt University in Agu. 1992, who had 
completed the study, returning back in 1997, and has joint our service team.
　b.Attending doctor,Chi-Chien Wang: completed doctoral education on clinical medicine in our college in Apr.1993.
　c.Attending doctor,Shin-Nan Cheng:completed doctoral education on clinical medicine in our university in July 1994, and has gone to United 
 States for further study till now.
　d.Attending doctor,Tien-Yuan Ou: began his further education in Children's Hospital Boston,U.S., and has accomplished his study and returned
 to our team.

We have put great emphasis on visual-audio equipment as well as the library booksto match up present hardware outfits and produce instruction videos, filmslides, etc.,in order to benefit learning of the students. Besides, we have subscribed to tens ofjounals on internal and surgical paediatrics from both Taiwan and abroad.
