With the era of preventive medicine fast approaching, the "ECG AI interpretation platform" developed following a collaboration between the National Defense Medical Center and Tri-Service General Hospital has undergone technical transfer and has been passed to Quanta Computer Inc. The contract was signed on August 1, 2023. By combining the research energy of the National Defense Medical Center, the clinical evidence approved by Tri-Service General Hospital, and the experience of Quanta Computer Inc. in technology integrations, AI smart medicine will continue to develop and enter a new phase of biomedical business opportunities.

The contract signing ceremony for the "ECG AI interpretation platform" was hosted by President Cha, Tai-Lung, National Defense Medical Center, and witnessed by Lieutenant General Tsai, Chien-Sung, Director of the Medical Affairs Bureau, MND. Major General Hung, Yi-Jen, Superintendent of Tri-Service General Hospital, Chairman Lam, Barry, Quanta Computer Inc., and Chief Wang, Li-Ru, BioMed Commercialization Center, were invited to the event to share how the application of AI combined with smart medicine can protect everyone's health.

Director Tsai of the Medical Affairs Bureau, MND, said that "ECG AI interpretation platform" developed following collaboration between the National Defense Medical Center and Tri-Service General Hospital has been handed over to Quanta Computer Inc. through technology transferring and industrial-academic collaboration mechanisms. It is expected to lead to the further development of AI smart medicine by combining the advantages of all parties in the collaboration and provide more creative brainstorming ideas for the industrial-academic collaboration and smart medicine. It will also offer more possibilities for medical services in remote areas, telemedicine, and industrial-academic collaboration.

President Cha of the National Defense Medical Center indicated that the National Defense Medical Center has listed the promotion of AI smart medicine as an important performance indicator. The center has also aligned with the National Science and Technology Council and Higher Education Sprout Project to dedicate efforts to specific projects. The milestones of the "ECG AI interpretation platform" are particularly impressive as the platform combined with AI technology can interpret ECGs rapidly and accurately; it is so powerful that it can accurately assist with ruling out more than 50 diseases through one ECG interpretation. Therefore, in addition to uploading instant ECG data with real-time analysis, it can help physicians immediately identify acute cardiac diseases. It can also be used as a relatively inexpensive and simple examination tool for chronic cardiovascular diseases in remote communities, reducing the burden on local resources through early diagnosis and treatment.

The end of the ceremony was marked with a group photo after the contract was signed, commemorating a new chapter for the development of AI smart medicine through technical collaboration and experience exchange among Quanta Computer Inc., the National Defense Medical Center, and Tri-Service General Hospital.
