Martha came from Palau in South Pacific Ocean; she was suffering from low back pain and received treatment in several other countries for years. However her condition did not improved. She started to develop numbness over her legs and unsteady gait; she was referred to our international medical service team to seek treatment.
Martha was diagnosed with Spinal Cord Compression due to Lumbar spondylolisthesis by our neurosurgical Dr. Ma Hsin Yi.
On April 27, Martha underwent “L3/4 Laminofactomy + L3/4, L4/5 discectomy & interbody fusion with cages + L3/5 percutaneous IF with TPS” procedures. She mentioned there was no discomfort during the recovery period and the numbness in her legs is all gone. Dr. Ma reminded her to avoid weight lifting and intense exercise.
